Forklift Training for beginners : Course Details

This course is designed for beginners, who receive a TMC certificate at the end of the course, provided they achieve the required standard in the theoretical and practical tests.

New drivers or drivers with little experience and no certification

 

Forklift Training for experienced Trainees : Course Details

Operating a forklift truck is a specialised skill. Many accidents are caused by untrained drivers operating trucks in ignorance of the special conditions that apply to forklifts. This two-day course is designed for experienced operators who do not hold a certificate.

On completion of the course participants will be able to:

  • Operate a fork lift truck safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians
  • Use safe operating habits
  • Explain the consequences of taking certain kinds of chances
  • Load and unload safely
  • Refuel/recharge fork lift trucks safely
  • Handle awkward loads

Who should attend?

Experienced operators who are familiar with the steering characteristics of the lift truck and have the ability to manoeuvre both forward and reverse in a confined area. They should be experienced in load handling functions.

 

Forklift Training Refresher : Courses Details

All successful candidates receive a valid Fork Lift Driver certificate, which is valid for 3 years. There are two main types of forklift trucks, Counterbalance or Reach.

Course Programme & Objectives

Once completed  participants will be able to:

  • Operate a forklift truck safely, reducing the risk of injury
  • List key features of relevant legislation
  • Display sharpened operating skills
  • Rectify bad habits
  • Reinforce safe practice

Who should attend?

Currently Certified Drivers who have had adequate basic training should attend this course. They should have previously been certified but now require their skills to be updated, perhaps due to long intervals of time between operating lift trucks, or if changes in work practices/vehicles have occurred, or there is evidence of deterioration in the operators performance.

Pre-Course Requirements:

  • Valid Fork Lift truck License.
